Croatia
Beautiful Croatia. Enchanting Croatia. An idyllic country on the Adriatic Sea.

Starting in Dubrovnik, a seaside city lying off the Adriatic.... distinctive for its Old Town, encircled by its massive original stone walls completed in the 16th century (where fans of The Game of Thrones will recognize the alleys and sites). Wander the endless narrow alley ways, stopping at shops, bars and grab a table in the many alley way restaurants for a plate of fresh mussels and cold octopus salad. Magical!!

Take a ferry to Hvar, an island in the Adriatic Sea, one of the 48 inhabited islands from over a thousand that bear the flag of Croatia. Hvar comes alive in the summer, walk the main square, take an excursion to the Pakleni Islands to swim the secluded beaches and coves.

Take another ferry to Split off the Dalmatian Coast. The highlight is the fortress like complex in the center of the city (Diocletian’s Palace), home to shops, bars, AirBnbs, hotels and restaurants erected by the Roman’s in the 4th century. Walk harbor side and view the multimillion dollar yachts, one nicer than the other. Split is picturesque from any spot.

A car or bus ride from Split is Croatia’s most visited tourist attraction, Plitvice Lakes National Park. A breathless chain of 16 terraced lakes, joined by waterfalls, that extend into a limestone canyon. Stroll the paths at your leisure.

A short bus ride from a Plitvice Lakes, is the urban capital of Croatia, Zagreb. Walk the streets of this city and admire the 18th and 19th century beautiful Austro Hungarian architecture. Walk to the main square, the outdoor markets, stroll the parks, and bring home Croatian pumpkin oil, the finest in the world and difficult to obtain outside of Croatia. Have a look!
